Setting up an iLab account

An iLab account is required to enroll in onboarding and training provided by the Parnassus Flow Core (PFCC)/CIL. Click here and sign up for an account using your UCSF MyAccess credentials. Your PI/Lab Manager will receive a notification to approve your iLab account and will need to grant access to their group's speedtypes. If you have any issues accessing iLab, please see PFCC's FAQ

    3. Hands on course for plate loader

Flow Cytometry Training

Based on your experience level and the nature of your projects, you will need to complete some or all of the following courses:

  1. Course 1 - Principles of Flow Cytometry
  2. Course 2 - FACSDiva
  3. Course 3 - Sorting

CIL serves as host of course 1, Principles of Flow Cytometry.

The Principles of Flow Cytometry course is a three-hour lecture and lab course designed to cover the basics of flow cytometry. These include:

  • Fluorescence emission and detection
  • Fluidics
  • Operation
  • Panel design
  • Controls

If you are interested in course 2 or 3, please visit the PFCC iLab account. All new users of PFCC instruments are required to complete onboarding training to ensure that all users are aware of the facility policies and instrument procedures. You will not be allowed to enroll in course 2 or 3 if you have not completed onboarding training. For further instructions, please visit the New Users page on PFCC's website.
